Nature Detective Workshop for Kids

Children (Age 6-12) are invited to a hands-on workshop to become Nature Detectives. Kids will learn all about lizards, including how to spot them and how these pollinators relate to gardening. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks. This workshop is designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Geranium Circle, and sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library. Do you have what it takes to beat our Southeast Gaming Grand Master? Practice your Wii skills in our Galaxy Game Room and then come to the tournament for a chance to beat our Grand Master. Here There Be Pirates

Bring in your family to meet Captain William Mayhem from the St. Augustine Pirate Museum and be mystified by his magical pirate talents. See some cool pirate artifacts during this hour long Pirate adventure show. This very special Viva Florida 500 program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

 

Teen/Tween Summer Reading Party

Time to turn in summer reading logs and participate in a library scavenger hunt. Bring your iPod, iPad, or smartphone with a QR code reader app – you’ll need it to complete the scavenger hunt that will lead you through the library to pizza, free books, and more. Southeast Book Club: The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie

Join us as we discuss Alan Bradley's wonderful novel, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. It is about 11-year-old, Flavia de Luce, an aspiring chemist who uses her talent and inquisitiveness to solve a murder on her family's property. New members are always welcome.
