Adult Bingo for Books

Don't miss this opportunity to win free adult popular books while having fun playing Bingo!  All materials will be supplied by the Library and everyone will go home with at least one free book.  Mark your calendars for this fun chance to win books and make new friends.

Microsoft Excel Class

Everyone is invited to attend this beginners class on Microsoft Excel.  This class is FREE, but registration is required.  If interested, please either stop by the reference desk or call (904) 827-6900.

 

Bedtime Storytime

Wear your PJs to this special session of our regular Wednesday storytime where we do storytime backwards. Arts and crafts come first and then we will wind down with some favorite stories. This is a family program that is suitable for all young children.

Let's "Dig Into Reading." Parents, please note that this is the same storytime we will be doing on Wednesday, July 17.

 

Teen Gaming Tournament

Do you have what it takes to beat our Southeast Gaming Grand Master?  Practice your Super Mario Bros. skills during the month of July in our Galaxy Game Room and then come to the Super Mario Bros. tournament for a chance to beat our Grand Master. Pizza and prizes will be provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library. 


Sew Into Altered Art

Come out for the next installment of our Teen Makerspaces series when we pull out sewing machines and turn old clothes and fabric scraps into snazzy tablet and cell phone cases, purses, and more. Makerspaces programs are geared toward teen and tween guys and gals who are interested in learning how to create, using their minds and their hands.

 

Teen Coffeehouse: Book Art

Calling all teen artists, poets, and scholars: come share your drawings, sketches, poems, stories... anything. We will meet in the Teen Lounge and share our art and the art of others. Don't forget to bring your mug - hot chocolate, apple cider, and tea will be provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

Do you have old, musty books laying around? Bring them in for our book art project, where we'll use the pages of old books to craft some totally cool... well, art.

 

Red Cross Summer Safety for Kids

Swimming is a popular summer activity and The American Red Cross encourages everyone to learn how to stay safe at the beach and the pool. Join us for an informative program on how to enjoy water activities safely.

Friends of the Library Booksale

Saturday, June 15 from 10 am - 4 pm

The Friends of the Southeast Library will be holding a one-day only book sale in the Library Lobby.  Tables of books will be available, including many new & popular fiction titles.  The FOLSE Bookstore will be open during the same hours with the same low prices.

Summer Reading Program: Fractured Fairytales - A Pirate's Life for Me

Wednesday, July 31 @ 2 pm

skullAarrgh ye ready, landlubbers?  It’s time to set sail for adventure with Captain Kristine and First Mate Alex!  Turn in your completed reading log and be transformed into a pirate – you’ll even get a new pirate name!  Then help the Captain and First Mate tell a classic fairytale story (all wrong, of course).  The treasure map in the story will lead you to the treasure and the special guests that hold it!

Parents, please note that this program will take place (mostly) outside and that your child will get wet.  Appropriate swimwear and cover-ups are permitted; shoes are required.

This program for school-aged children is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.
