Teen Event: National Milkshake Day Celebration

Teens (Age 12-17) are invited to make delicious smoothies and milkshakes in honor of National Milkshake Day. We'll supply fruit, juice, and ice for smoothies as well as chocolate, peanut butter, and almond milk for milkshakes. This tasty progam is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Library.

 

 

LEGO Club for Tweens

Tweens in 4th-7th grades are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too.

 

Teen Gaming Night

Teens (Age 13-18) are invited to have fun with friends at the library. Play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), Nintendo Wii, and X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Snacks are provided. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and our friends at Sony. Call 827-6950 for more details.

 

Teen Advisory Board

Teens (Age 13-18) are invited to join our Teen Advisory Board and have a say in the materials we order for teens, the teen programs we offer, and much more at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Participation in the Teen Advisory Board counts as service hours and snacks are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Join us for our meeting and get involved.

National Library Card Sign-Up Month: Visit the Bookmobile

Have you ever visited the St. Johns County Bookmobile? If not, now is the time. The Bookmobile will be rolling into the parking lot of the Southeast Branch Library at 3pm and will be available for patrons of all ages to tour and check out materials. September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. If you don't have a library card, this is the perfect opportunity to sign up.

The fun starts early. Join Miss Kristine for a library pep rally at 2:30pm. We will welcome the Bookmobile with dancing and cheering when it arrives at 3pm. There will be a family craft starting at 3pm.

The St. Johns County Public Library System welcomed its first Bookmobile in 2001.  In 2008, the Bluebird Express was added and provided the opportunity to serve residents of all ages countywide. Both Bookmobiles are full-service mobile libraries with extensive collections! We'll have crafting for the kids, so we invite you to stop by the Main Library for a special visit from the Bookmobile.

J.A.A.M. (Japanese Anime At Main)

JAAMMonday, August 26 @ 5pm
Love watching anime or reading manga? Tweens, teens, and young twenty-somethings are invited to the monthly meeting of our anime club, where you can meet others with similar interests. Feel free to wear a costume if you’d like and come "JAAM" with us.   Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library.
