International Games Day
Saturday, November 3 @ 1 pm
Join the global games! People at libraries all over the world will be dancing on Wii's, racing on Playstations, rolling dice on board games, slapping down playing cards, and generally having a great gaming day. Come play with us @ the Hastings Branch Library! Also, a big "thank you" to Sony for the donation of a new Playstation 3!
Teen Book Club: Blood Red Road

If you like action and smart heroines, this book is for you. In Blood Red Road, the first book in the Dustlands trilogy, you'll meet Saba, a fierce fighter who is on a quest to find her twin brother. Ever wonder what kind of adventures your library books have been on? Catch a book with the bookcrossing sticker and follow the instructions on the label. Go to www.bookcrossing.com to see where the book has been and make a new journal entry so that other BookCrossers can see where it's traveled to and stay connected with books they've borrowed!
Teen Read Week: Haunted Haikus
October 14 through October 20
It's Teen Read Week! This year's theme: It Came from the Library. Submit your own haunted haiku (illustrations welcome!) between October 14th and October 20th. Submissions will be displayed through Halloween. (Haiku refresher: a poem of three lines, the first made up of five syllables, the second of seven, and the third of five.)
