School-age children, tweens, and teens choose what they want to play after school at the Main Library. A selection of video game choices for X-box 360, PS3, & Wii consoles will be offered.  Complimentary snacks and soda will be provided.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Library & Sony.

 

Teen Tech. Week event: Teen Movie Night (ages 13 - 18 ONLY!)

All teens ages 13 - 18 ONLY are invited to celebrate Teen Tech. Week 2013 with a special movie showing tied into video gaming! Tired of being overshadowed and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Wreck-it Ralph decides he's tired of playing the role of a bad guy. Call the Library at 827-6950 for more details. National Library Week: Teen Literature Day

Teens and those who love teen literature are invited to celebrate Teen Literature Day, a special celebratory day during National Library Week by joining us anytime after school (2 - 8pm) on April 18 to celebrate the announcement of the 2013 Teen Top Ten nominees. Have a sweet treat and browse through previous years' winners to find a new great read.

 

National Library Week: Support Teen Literature Day

Everyone is invited to celebrate Support Teen Literature Day (April 18), a special celebratory day during National Library Week ("Communities Matter": April 14 - 20), by checking out our special display in the Adult Department featuring teen fiction books with crossover appeal for adults. All books will be available for checkout - learn a little more about your community by perusing and checking out the teen books that teens and adults love. Bibliographies made by Youth Services Librarian Anne Crawford and her Teen Advisory Board will be available as these books will likely disappear fast.

 

Family Game Time

Family Board Game NightWednesday, April 24 from 3 - 6pm

On the 4th Wednesday of every month between 3 - 6pm, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games. Simply use your library card or driver's license to check out a board game or two and play anywhere in the library. Challenge your family and friends to your favorite games. Call the Library at 827-6950 for more details. All board games are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

 

LEGO Club for Tweens

LegoWednesday, April 17 from 4 - 5 pm

Tweens in 4th - 7th grade ONLY are invited to come on out and bring your friends for an afternoon of fun building with Legos and hanging out at the library. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club.

 

Teen Advisory Board

Question MarkTuesday, April 16 from 4:30 - 5:30 pm

Teens ages 13 - 18 ONLY are invited to join our new Teen Advisory Board and have a say in the materials we order for teens, the teen programs we offer, and much more at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Participation in the Teen Advisory Board counts as service hours and snacks will be served provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Join us for our meeting - led by Youth Services Librarian Anne Crawford - and get involved. This meeting will be held the 3rd Tuesday - instead of the 2nd Tuesday - due to the Library's Book Sale.

 

Teen Gaming Night

All 13 - 18 year-olds ONLY are invited to have fun with your friends at the library and play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), Nintendo Wii, and X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing! Snacks will be served. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and our friends at Sony. Call 827-6950 for more details! Please Note:  Starting in January 2013, Teen Gaming Night will now be open to 13 - 18 year-olds ONLY to make this program just for TEENS!

 

J.A.A.M. (Japanese Anime At Main)

Tweens, teens, and young twenty-somethings are invited to the monthly meeting of our anime club, where you can meet others with similar interests. We’ll view assorted Anime & enjoy Japanese treats.  Feel free to wear a costume if you’d like and come "JAAM" with us!

 

National Library Week Event: Kids & Tweens Crafts with Cat in the Hat

Come into the library to celebrate National Library Week by making some great crafts. You can hang out with Cat in the Hat while making your own canvas bags, origami book marks and bottlecap jewelry. We'll even have some special Seussalicious snacks for you. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Anastasia Island Branch Library.
