FREE Tutoring for Kids Grades K-6

National Honors Students from Pedro Menendez High School will be at the library to tutor children who need a little extra help with their studies. The tutoring is free, all you need to do is call the library to reserve as spot on our list, as space is limited. 209-3730

 

Relax Your Lower Back

Does your lower back feel tight and stiff? Do you find yourself sitting for most of the day? One of the core messages for people suffering with lower back pain is to remain active. Discover how to relax your lower back and body through stretching and using breathing techniques. Remember to breathe deeply and regularly, as this will help you to oxygenate the body, eliminate carbon dioxide, and to relax fully. This free class is presented by Gina Mercado.

Storytimes will run through April 29.
 
Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs, counting and colors in Spanish. Come for songs, stories, and fun. Baby/Spanish storytime consists of lap-sit rhymes, songs, and stories in both English and Spanish. We look forward to seeing you.

Join us every Friday for a fun Spanish/English storytime in the Children's Department. We will have lapsits for babies, rhymes, stories, music, and more. Give your feet a treat by experiencing Raindrop Therapy. Inspired by the Lakota Indians, Raindrop Therapy uses therapeutic oils for balancing and rejuvenating the mind and body. When properly applied to the neck, back, and feet, these essential oils can bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalances in the body. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces. Want to do even more building, but a different kind? Kids and tweens can come into the library to learn with us during our Hour of Code! We will have some iPads for kids to share, or bring in your own tablet. There is no registration or fee for this program.
