LB Reptile Experience

Wednesday, July 16 @ 10 am

LB Reptile Experience will bring lizards, snakes, turtles, and more to Hastings. This program helps educate children about the needs, conservation, and care of these wonderful reptiles. The presentation will be at the Hastings Recreation Center Gym at 400 E. Harris St.

Great White Cool-Down Fest

Friday, July 25 @ 6pm

Join us for an after-hours celebration of the coldest, windiest place on Earth, Antarctica. The evening will feature a showing of the fantastic photographs of Sandra Birnhack and David Barr, documenting their travels to the area. We'll also screen a movie about a brave princess trapped in eternal winter who must set off on a journey to find her sister. Enjoy a sno-cone, and a "cool" evening, too, at this family event.

The Hastings Adult Book Club will continue this year's theme of Southern Gothic literature with Flannery O'Connor.  During her short life, she wrote two novels and collections of short stories.  Her Complete Stories was named the 1972 U.S. National Book Award for Fiction and her 1952 novel Wise Blood was adapted for film by legendary director John Huston.  Please join us at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 16 for a lively discussion of this acclaimed American author.
