National Library Card Sign-Up Month: Family Storytime with Elmo

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month! To celebrate, Ms. Anne will be sharing Sesame Street stories and afterwards, to encourage all children to get their own library cards, every child who shows his/her St. Johns County Public Library card can get his/her picture taken with our huge Elmo. If your child doesn't have a library card yet, you can get one at the Circulation Desk anytime before this storytime. There are no age limits for library cards for children - get one now!

STAND Against Bullying is a 45-minute program focusing on a serious topic in a fun manner. Using comedy, magic, ventriloquism, musical routines, and lots of audience interaction, Mark helps give kids the tools they need to take a STAND against bullying. This program was made possible at all SJCPLS branch libraries through a Barbara A. Kay Foundation Grant.

Come into the library to play with our LEGO bricks and pieces. We supply the LEGO bricks and fun - all you need to bring is your imagination. There is no registration or fee for this program.

Children (K - 5th grade), and their caregivers, are invited to make crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club. Materials are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. No registration is needed and it's free. Please Note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.

Children ages 3-5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lie, and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.
