The group meets monthly and the books to be discussed are from the 1st Series of the Great Books Reading & Discussion Program, Conscience by Immanuel Kant and Alienated Labour by Karl Marx. Teen Gaming Night

Teens (Ages 13-18) are invited to have fun with friends at the library. Play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Wii, or X-Box 360 set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Don't worry about waiting for a turn - we'll have board games to play. Snacks will be provided. Dr. Seuss Family Storytime

The whole family is invited to join us for a Dr. Seuss-themed Family Storytime celebrating his birthday! We'll share Dr. Seuss stories and the usual songs, dancing, and more, and every child will receive a Dr. Seuss sticker and a "Happy Birthday" coloring sheet created by local cartoonist, Bob Drost. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!


Children's Non-Fiction Book Sale

Attention educators and parents! The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library are hosting a one-day book sale featuring an array of children's non-fiction books. These books are aimed at ages 6 - 11 and only cost $.50 a book! Everyone is welcome to partake of this sale and proceeds from the sale benefit the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library through the purchase of new materials, special programs, and much more. Join us and support your library!


Adventures in Art: Liz Gibson

Please join us for a presentation by Liz Gibson, nationally known artist celebrated for painting and performance art, on "Art Symbolism and Storytelling". This program is made possible by FOCUS Cummer and the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Teen Tech Week: Teen Movie Club

MovieTuesday, March 10 from 5pm - 7:30pm

How does technology win a war? Propoganda, according to tonight's movie! Do you agree? Teens (Ages 13 - 18 ONLY) are invited to celebrate Teen Tech Week and join our new Movie Club featuring primarily book-to-movie adaptations! Bring your friends, chow down on pizza and sodas, and let us know if the movie lived up to the book. You don't have to read the book to come, but the books are all available in the library. Just days after its release, we'll be watching the Part I adaptation (PG-13) of Suzanne Collins' final book in the "Hunger Games" trilogy, Mockingjay, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. Ponte Vedra Forum - John and Whitney Spinks

Featured on HGTV’s Flipping the Block this couple will bring their hard-earned expertise and wealth of ideas to the library for a special presentation.  They will provide design and remodeling tips, and share behind-the-scenes secrets from Flipping the Block, as well as show off some of their favorite before and after photos.  This program is made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.


After-School Crafts with Teens

Children (Kindergarten - 5th grade), and their caregivers, are invited to make crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club. Materials are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. No registration is needed and it's free. Please Note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.


Free Nemours BrightStart Screenings for Ages 3 - 5

Thursday, March 12 from 10am - 12:30pm 

childrenChildren ages 3 - 5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lie, and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.


How Outlandish: A Celebration of Scotland

Book Talk Cafe - Steve Boone

This month's Book Talk Cafe will feature Steve Boone, who will discuss his memoir, Hotter Than A Match Head, Life on the Run with The Lovin’ Spoonful. This St. Augustine resident was an original member of the chart-topping band when their first seven singles made it into the top 10 music charts.  This program is made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.


LEGO Club for Tweens

Wednesday, February 18 from 3pm - 4:30pm

LegoTweens in 4th - 7th grades (ages 9 - 13) are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out! No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too. All young LEGO lovers, please enjoy our brand-new LEGO table in the Children's Department, purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library,  so that this special program may just be for the Tweens!


"Donuts for Dads" Family Storytime

Thanks to Fidelity Bank in Ponte Vedra Beach, Dads, Grandpas, and their families will also enjoy donuts, coffee, and juice at the conclusion of storytime. Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants: Spring Into Flowers

sisterhoodThe Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants (Cathy and Marilyn, members of the Garden Club of St. Augustine) are coming to your library to help you discover the meaning behind flowers, how they can come together in beautiful arrangements, with "Downton Abbey" as the inspriation! If you wish, buy raffle tickets from the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library to win the arrangements the Sisterhood creates. The raffle proceeds help sponsor this event. Doors will open at 1:30pm and light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Join us for this bi-annual event not to be missed!

"Just for Babies" and Family Storytimes

storytimeMs. Anne presents programs for little ones!

Just for Babies: 2nd and 4th Thursdays @10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with babies and older siblings are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.

Family Storytime: Every Thursday @11am; for children 16 months to 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.

Please Note: When the FOL Community Room is not available, Just for Babies and/or Family Storytime will not be held. There will be no storytime programming on March 26, 2015 due to Early Voting!
