The Technical Services Team consists of seven highly skilled full time staff members. Duties performed are divided into two areas: Technology Support and Maintenance and Traditional Library Technical Support.
Library Technical Support duties include:

Acquisitions – Includes ordering, receiving and invoicing of items.

Cataloging – The process by which descriptive information about each item is entered into the online catalog. This includes author, title and publisher information, as well as call number and subject headings.

Physical Processing – Prepares materials for shelving and circulation for our library patrons by adding property stamps/labels, barcodes, book covers, due date pockets, spine labels, genre stickers (mystery, fantasy, western, etc.)

Interlibrary Loan Services – Expands the reach of the library by allowing the lending and borrowing of materials which may not be available at SJCPLS through a worldwide network of over 6,700 libraries!
