Are you starting your first job, graduating from high school, or heading off to college? Whatever the reason, every teen needs to learn how to manage money. The St. Johns River Chapter of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the St. Johns County Public Library System are teaming up to offer this full day (10am to 3:30pm) workshop to teens age 15-20. Subjects covered will be budgeting, saving, personal investing, using credit wisely, avoiding identity theft and more. Class size is limited so call us at 827-6950 or stop by the Reference Desk to register! This workshop is sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and lunch will be provided by the St. Johns River Chapter of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Young adults are invited to join our Teen Summer Reading Club, which is focusing on safe and creative ways teens can Own the Night! Teens are invited to join local baking enthusiast, Nicole N. in creating some yummy, no-bake desserts. Make Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles, "Puppy" Chow, and many more scrumptious treats, all of which are perfect for a midnight snack. Share with your friends or family....or not!

Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's 1st Teen Summer Reading Program will run from June 1 - August 4. All middle school and high school students (rising 6th - 12th graders ONLY) are invited to participate in your own summer reading program! Simply read whatever you want and fill out a review on each book read to be entered into a weekly raffle. Review forms are available at the Reference Desk. Weekly prizes are brand-new copies of Scholastic titles for middle and high school youth purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library! All book reviews will be entered into the grand prize raffle in August. Please call the Library at 827-6950 with any questions. PLEASE NOTE: Our Teen Summer Reading Program runs concurrently with our Adult Summer Reading Program, both sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library!

On the 4th Wednesday of every month between 3 - 6 pm, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games! Simply use your library card or driver's license to check out a board game or two from the Reference Desk and play anywhere in the library. Call the Library at 827-6950 for more details. For tweens ages 8 - 13 only! Join our LEGO Club at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library! Come on out and bring your friends for an afternoon of fun building with Legos and hanging out at the library. This Club will meet once a month through December, on the second Wednesday of each month, in the Small Conference Room. No registration and it's free! Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos.

School's out for the summer! Enjoy your first evening of freedom with gaming at the library. For middle and high school students ages 11 - 18 ONLY - have fun with your friends at the library and play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), Nintendo Wii, and X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing! Snacks will be served. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, Sabina of GameStop, and Sean of Sony PlayStation. Call 827-6950 for more details!

The whole family is invited to join us - in Bird Island Park behind the library - for a festival and to kick off Children's Book Week 2012, too! There will be storytelling, recycle crafts, turtle talks, native plants, and much more. It's free and everyone is welcome to enjoy this beautiful park! Thank you to Bird Island Park for hosting Family Storytimes every Tuesday at 11 am in our FOL Community Room during May, August, and December which are program planning months for the library system.

It's International Games Day @ Your Library! Teens, (grades 6-12) bring your friends and come on out for an evening of gaming on Saturday, November 3-- we have Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Wii, PS3, or play Halo on X-Box 360! Refreshments will be served.
