Family Storytime celebrating Bird Island Park!
Tuesday, October 2 @ 11 am
Today's Family Storytime contains a special outdoor treat: Join Ms. Anne inside in the FOL Community Room for animal stories, songs and dancing, and then directly afterwards, go outside to Bird Island Park and meet some animals and explore the park! Emily Montgomery of Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve is bringing three snakes and a terrapin for you to learn about and see up close, and then enjoy the beautiful weather and check out the park which has many fun activities in the month of October. Bird Island Park is located directly behind the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library - in the event of rain, the animal encounter will be held inside the library. Thank you to Bird Island Park for sponsoring this fun opportunity!
Family Storytime celebrating National Friends of the Library Week!

Today's Family Storytime celebrates National Friends of the Library Week with two special guest readers who love our library: Library Director, Debra Rhodes Gibson, and Ponte Vedra County Commissioner, Jay Morris! Ms. Anne will provide the songs and dancing and autumn bookmark craft and give-aways as we share stories about loving the library and reading. Our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library sponsor our special summer reading program events and "Un-Scary" Halloween Party, help us to buy new children's, teen, and adult materials, and so much more - let's celebrate them and our wonderful library!
Family Game Time
Wednesday, October 24 from 3 - 6 pm
On the 4th Wednesday of every month between 3 - 6 pm, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games! Simply use your library card or driver's license to check out a board game or two from the Reference Desk and play anywhere in the library. Challenge your family and friends to your favorite games! Teen Read Week Event: Teen Graphic Novel Workshop

Are you a teen who loves graphic novels? Ever thought of creating one yourself? All middle school and high school students are invited to celebrate Teen Read Week 2012 with Andre Frattino, local author of two graphic novels for teens (The Reaper of St. George Street and Lost Souls of Savannah) featuring teen ghost hunters from St. Augustine! Andre will show you what it takes to become a graphic novel author with opportunities to create your own art if you wish. All teen graphic novel enthusiasts are encouraged to participate in this hands-on workshop. Teens Read with Kids RETURNS!
Saturday, October 6 from 10 am - 12 pm
All children are invited to be read to by a teen or practice reading to a teen each month in the Children's Department - this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club! Select what you'd like to hear or read from any of our books or bring your favorites from home. Please note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.
FREE Nemours BrightStart Screenings for Preschoolers Ages 3 - 5
Tuesday, October 16 from 10 am - 12:30 pm
Children ages 3 - 5 are invited to receive a 10-minute FREE Early Literacy Screening at the Library courtesy of Nemours BrightStart! Registration will be taken on a first-come, first serve basis on this day by Angela of Nemours. Nemours BrightStart will be returning on November 27 to conduct more screenings at the Library for those not able to take advantage of the opportunity on this date. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lay and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school!
LEGO Club for Tweens
Wednesday, October 10 from 4 - 5 pm
Tweens ages 9 - 13/4th - 7th grade ONLY are invited to come on out and bring your friends for an afternoon of fun building with Legos and hanging out at the library. No registration is necessary and it's free! Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens!
Teen Gaming Night
Wednesday, October 3 from 5 - 7 pm
For middle and high school students ages 11 - 18 ONLY - have fun with your friends at the library and play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), Nintendo Wii, and X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing! After-School Crafts with Teens

Children in Kindergarten - 5th grade ONLY and their caregivers are invited to make crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club!
