The St. Johns County Council on Aging (COA) is excited to announce a new partnership with the St. Johns County Public Library:  starting in January, anyone can ride the Sunshine Bus free of charge on the first Wednesday of the month, by showing a St. Johns County Library card as their bus pass. Get excited–this program begins on January 6, 2021!

That’s right—the smartest card in your wallet now gets you around town for free on the first Wednesday of the month. This includes up to three children ages 12 and under, riding along with an adult at no cost.

Library Director Debra Gibson praised the COA for their support of this idea:  “Libraries have always been about access to all sorts of information and assistance to make life better, and this ‘Free First Wednesday’ program will make it easier for our citizens to get around town, and to find their way to the library.”

If you need to get a library card or renew the one you have, it just takes a few minutes at your local library. For branch locations and other information about our Library System, visit sjcpls.org. To learn more about the Council on Aging, visit www.coasjc.org.
