Back to The Future!
As 2020 dawns – a year that existed in our minds as “The Future” since we were children — I decided to look backward at SJCPLS over the past decade.
Even a quick review of our annual statistics (see below) will reflect the growth in our community as well as in our services and programs. SJCPLS is proud to serve the residents of St. Johns County and we look forward to another decade of well-rounded services, collections, and programs. With 6 branch locations throughout St. Johns County and 2 travelling bookmobiles, there is truly something for everyone at a library near you!
And, speaking of programming….The Library System will host its annual St. Johns READS, a One Book, One Community reading program, in February 2020. This year’s programming revolves around Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Community book discussions, our first library 5K run, and other special programming will take place throughout the month of February in each of our libraries and at some of the Extension Services/Bookmobile stops. Specific details and events will be available on our website.
As a new year begins, the Library Advisory Board, Library Staff, and Library Administration wish all of our residents a happy, healthy new year and a decade full of possibilities.
