Not every new outfit needs to come with a price tag. Whether you’re a parent looking for clothing for a child going through a growth spurt, or you’re looking for a new look for yourself in 2020, the Bartram Trail Branch Library invites you to two free library events aimed at helping you swap, not shop, in the new year!

This January, the Bartram Trail Branch Library, part of the St. Johns County Public Library System, 60 Davis Pond Blvd., will host two free clothing swap events—one for kids’ clothing and one for adults.

Send the kids back to school after the winter break in style, when on January 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., families are invited for a kids’ “Back to School Clothing Swap.” Parents are invited to bring in gently used clothing items to swap one-to-one for new-to-them ones. Winter or summer wear, jeans, sports jerseys and accessories like shoes and belts are all welcome! We just ask that all items be clean and in good, wearable condition.

On January 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., patrons are invited to the library’s “Ladies’ Clothing Swap.” When this program was launched last year at the Bartram Trail Branch Library, patrons brought in hundreds of items. This is a great time to try on a new look, FOR FREE!

Early drop off (and ticket pickup) is available for the kids’ “Back to School Clothing Swap” on January 3 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. For the “Ladies’ Clothing Swap, feel free to drop off items on January 24, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. If swapping isn’t your speed, but you’re in the giving spirit, you’re invited to donate clothing to the swaps. All leftover items that aren’t claimed will be donated to local charitable organizations.
