This annual event supports children and families in the 32145 and 32033 zip codes, which includes the communities of Hastings, Spuds, Armstrong, Elkton, and Flagler Estates in St. Johns County.
Over 40 organizations, including The St. Johns County School Board and several St. Johns County departments were onsite to provide school supplies, free sports and pre-k physicals, vision and hearing screenings, glucose and cholesterol screenings, blood pressure checks, and information on services and resources available to families in St Johns County.
115 volunteers worked to make the back-to-school event a success, including student volunteers from Pedro Menendez High School. The event was also supported by sponsorship from Flagler Hospital and Island Doctors. The Hastings Friends of the Library and the St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department generously funded the school supply kits so they could be distributed to families free of charge.
