LEGO Robotics with Spike Prime

June 18 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free
Main Branch STEM Programs

Kids ages 10-16 are encouraged to join our LEGO Robotics with Spike Prime class and learn how to build cool robots and program them too!

Each month we will introduce a new project and practice coding using The LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime Set.

The LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime Set, part of the LEGO® Learning System, is the go-to STEAM learning kit for grade 6-8 students. Combining colorful LEGO building elements, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language based on Python, the SPIKE Prime STEAM set continuously engages students through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems, regardless of their learning level. From easy-entry projects to limitless creative design possibilities, SPIKE Prime helps students learn the essential STEAM and 21st century skills needed to become the innovative minds of tomorrow… while having fun!

Classes are FREE and each class lasts 1 hour. Space is limited so registration is required. For more information on this exciting program, feel free to contact Youth Services Librarian, Andy Calvert, at 827-6940 or at acalvert@sjcfl.us. This program would not be possible without the generous support of our Friends of the Library and their fundraising efforts.

We will group the kids in sets of two for a collaborative building experience.

Please only RSVP for each child attending. Do not RSVP for adults.

Classes are strictly limited to 8 robotics kits so please cancel your RSVP if you are unable to attend. Someone WILL be waiting to take your spot if you can’t use it.
