REGISTRATION REQUIRED. The 904 Naturalist program is a four part series, each part consisting of three consecutive weeks of research and adventure. Three classroom sessions will take place at the Main Library, the rest will be at local area parks for hands-on instruction. If you have wanted to deepen your connection with our local natural environment, this series is the first step.
January 2020 – Exploring the life of Mammals
February 2020 – Exploring the Circle of Place
March 2020 – Exploring the life of Birds
April 2020 – Exploring the life of Plants
During this project you will research 10 native plants and trees in their habitats. Learning about plants and the habitats they live in is important to understand the ecology of the area and how the fine-tuned system works together.
For this series you must be able to provide your own transportation. You must be able to attend all six classes in each section. This program is free and is open to adults ages 18 and older. Registration for all four sections is recommended, but not necessary. Classes and field trips will take place on both weekday afternoons and weekend mornings, and maybe weekday mornings. This program is offered as a result of a collaboration between the St. Johns County Parks and Recreation and the St. Johns County Public Library System. Some supplies will be provided by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.
