MAIN-iac Science Lab will stream live each Wednesday at 1:30pm and explore different scientific concepts, cool inventors and more. In this week’s program we will have a brief lesson on static electricity. What is it? How does it work? Why? After the lesson, Mr. Andy will show you how to experiment with static electricity using some simple household items.

Materials needed:

Adult supervision – this is science after all
2 or more small to medium size balloons
Some yarn or string
a flannel shirt or wool sweater
a stick  – approximately 2 feet long
2 empty, and clean, soda cans
a smooth surface
