The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library is hosting its monthly Speaker Series, held in the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library’s FOL Community Room. This monthly series, featuring a different local speaker each month, is free and open to the public. This month, the speaker is Backintyme, a husband-and-wife musical duo who specialize in retelling history, specifically Florida history.

Mary Lee and Frank Sweet make history come alive in period dress performing stories and songs of the 19th century. Each performance piece is an anecdote drawn from historical research, inter-woven with related songs of the time. The stories tell what folks did and thought back then and the songs reveal their emotions. They weave the fabric of our understanding. An audience member once said: “It was educational, entertaining and different from everything else you hear at either storytelling or musical events.”

Seating is first-come, first-served until room capacity is reached. Doors will open for this event starting at 6:00 pm.
