Solar Eclipse Glasses will not be handed out at this event, but will be available at our Total Solar Eclipse Party on August 21 starting at 10:30 am – one set of glasses per person (must be physically present) – while supplies last! Our Library System is one of 75 libraries nationwide to win the NASA@My Library grant, so join us as we ramp up to an incredibly unique event as a community: the Total Solar Eclipse! Everyone is invited to this “not to be missed” opportunity withNASA Solar System Ambassador Sam Turley as she educates us about the upcoming Eclipse; demonstrates how to make our own safe Eclipse viewers for those of us without safe glasses to view the it; and teaches us how to tell which Eclipse glasses are safe for use. If you are a girl interested in a STEM field, Sam Turley especially wants to inspire you! Don’t forget to check out our new astronomy books on display purchased by the Friends of the Library.
