Follow along with Main Library’s Adult Programming Coordinator Beth online as she takes a fun and easy charcoal drawing class with local artist Kasha Fahy, learning to create a picture of Bartram’s Ixia! First described by botanist and explorer William Bartram in 1767, Bartram’s Ixia is a rare and beautiful flower found only in 7 counties in Florida- St. Johns County being one of them! Kasha will guide us in how to make a beautiful drawing using simple techniques and easy-to-find supplies, including paper, charcoal, and a kneaded eraser. FREE materials for the class will be available at each library branch while supplies last, courtesy of a generous grant from the Barbara Kay Foundation. This program can be conveniently viewed on our website, our Facebook page, or our Youtube channel.
We’re celebrating St. Johns County’s Bicentennial all year long! Check out our YouTube 200th Playlist for more Virtual Programs: bit.ly/SJCPLScelebratesSJC200. More information on events county-wide can be found at sjc200.com
