1 Qt Flour, 2 Cups of Sugar, 1 Cup of Lard, 1 Egg1 Cup of Milk
Sift one quart of flour, make a hole in center, put in two cups of sugar, one of lard, one beaten egg, and one cup of sweet milk (regular ol’ milk), into which has been stirred a half teaspoonful of soda. Work all together, roll thin, cut and bake in a quick oven.
