Teens and Tweens, grades 6 through 12, join Miss Carla in sewing a fall pumpkin. You will build on prior sewing projects, but this time you will practice sewing curves and hand stitching. Pick up a kit at your local library branch while supplies last, kits are limited. A sewing machine and hot glue gun (both of which may require adult supervision) will be needed in addition to the kit.

Materials needed (if you do not have a kit from the library):

• 2 – 10.5 inch circles of fabric (or size of your dinner plate you use to draw your circle)
• 3 inch by 9 inch piece of brown felt
• Thread for sewing machine
• 3 yards of embroidery thread
• Large embroidery or tapestry needle
• Straight pins
• Fiberfill (stuffing for pumpkin)
• Sewing machine
• Hot glue gun
