Teens and Tweens, grades 6 through 12 learn to sew a scrunchie. Learn what a sewing casing is, how it works, and how to thread elastic through a casing. Pick up a kit at your local library branch, while supplies last, kits are limited. A sewing machine (may require adult supervision), iron (may need adult supervision), and scissors will be needed in addition to the kit.

Materials needed (if you do not have a kit from the library):
- 18-21 inch by 4 inch strip of fabric (cloth)
- 6-8 inches of ¼ inch elastic
- Scissors
- Two safety pins
- Straight pins
- Thread to match your fabric
- Sewing machine (may need adult supervision)
- Iron (may need adult supervision)
