Registration Required. Come learn about natural dyes in this fun and free St. Johns Reads workshop, taught by Flagler College Associate Professor of Art and Design Laura Mongiovi. Dye a tote bag to carry your library books and dye fabric pieces for later use in personal art projects. Students will use avocado pits and turmeric to dye and learn Japanese Shibori techniques. All materials are generously donated by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. Space is limited. For more information, call the Main Library at 904.827.6940.

Laura Mongiovi is an Associate Professor of Art and Design at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. She has an MFA from University of Colorado, Boulder and a BFA from Florida State University. Mongiovi exhibits her work, teaches across the curriculum at Flagler College and presents at conferences. She guest lectures about her work and leads workshops. Mongiovi co-organized the Deeper Than Indigo: Southeast Textile Symposium and is a recent recipient of the Northeast Florida Individual Artist Grant.
