Event Details

There are no RSVPs required for this special event at the Southeast Branch Library. We are excited to have you participate in St. Johns Reads with us!

Everyone is invited to join us at the library for the return of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants in person! Today’s event honors our 2023 St. Johns Reads selection, Buttermilk Graffiti, which celebrates culinary flavors and regional diversity, and is written by author and Chef Edward Lee. The Sisterhood – comprised of Cathy Snyder and Marilyn Smith – library lovers, avid readers and gardeners, and members of the Garden Club of St. Augustine – will show you, in an educational and entertaining way, how to put together unique, regional flower arrangements using both flowers and food! Reading our St. Johns Reads selection, Buttermilk Graffiti, prior to this event is encouraged, but not required. Buttermilk Graffiti is available with your SJCPLS library card via SJCPLS’s catalog with multiple print copies available and via our database, Overdrive, as an e-book and e-audiobook. RSVP online today, bring your family and friends, and delight in an afternoon of fun, flowers, literature, laughter, and learning!

Doors for this event will open promptly at 12:30 pm with the event starting at 1 pm. Light refreshments will be served and the 15+ flower arrangements the Sisterhood creates in front of your eyes will be raffled off as prizes!  Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event from the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library, and all the money raised from the raffle helps to sponsor today’s event.
