Giving Thanks @ My Library

November is a month for reflection. It’s a time when our thoughts turn inward to focus on the goodness in our lives. It’s a time to be with our friends and our families, and to share food and conversation. It’s a time for togetherness and a time to give thanks.

During this season, my focus will be on the things for which I am thankful. I’m thankful I get to live in such a beautiful area. I’m thankful I get to work for the library. I’m thankful for the residents of St. Johns County who support and use the library. I am especially thankful that we have such a strong library system, with a large collection of materials and great staff who focus on quality customer service. I’m thankful for good library board members and commissioners who support us as we strive to make the library a valuable part of the community.

Are you thankful for your library? From helping people get jobs to encouraging children to become strong readers, libraries transform lives. Although books are a big part of what we do, libraries offer unlimited possibilities for everyone, no matter what you’re interested in! A library card isn’t just a piece of plastic that lets you get books or use a computer; it’s a key to opportunity and adventure.

As the year winds down, and many of you are looking for organizations to support, I hope you’ll consider making a donation to help the library continue its important work. On Giving Tuesday, November 30th, consider making a donation to the library to help us enhance the programs and services we offer to our community. With your gift, you can help support STEM classes for children, our Summer Reading Program, public programming for all ages, and so much more. Make your contribution online at www.sjcpls.org/donate.

I hope you find as much value in the library as I do. Thank you for your continued support. I am grateful for you!

Happy Thanksgiving!
