Many Thanks to our Friends

Library DirectorThanksgiving is coming and there is certainly plenty to be thankful for at the St. Johns County Public Library System.

SJCPLS serves an exceptionally supportive and appreciative community. Library users are always asking questions, making requests, selecting materials, researching, learning, reading, watching, listening, and communicating. This ensures that our library staff is involved and interacting. We can all be thankful for this.

SJCPLS consists of six buildings and two mobile libraries. The libraries are active within the walls of the buildings and throughout the community. You can sign up for technology assistance, attend lectures, listen to music, and read about practically anything in the library. SJCPLS also serves adult care centers, neighborhoods, preschools, summer camps, and school sites with collections, programs, and services. A library card is not just a piece of plastic that lets you get books or use a computer; it is a key to opportunity and adventure. We can all be thankful for this.

There are seven Friends of the Library organizations within SJCPLS. The Friends membership totals over 1200 individuals and businesses across St. Johns County. Proceeds from their book sales, membership dues, and donations enhance the library collections, programs, and services that we offer to inform, enrich and strengthen our community.

Your assistance to the library, through your time, energy, and private funds, helps to make SJCPLS among the best public libraries in the region. We are thankful for your support and generous patronage, and, if you have not been in for a while, stop in and see what’s new.

On behalf of the Library Advisory Board and our staff, we wish you a happy Thanksgiving!
