Beginning Thursday, October 15, 2026, Overdrive’s Libby and Kanopy will require PINs, in addition to library card numbers, to verify accounts. As this new security feature rolls out, you may be prompted to “verify” your account using both numbers.

For step by step instructions on what to do when you are prompted to verify your account, please check out the helpful links below.

FAQ

For more information such as how to identify or reset your PIN, please see our short FAQ.
What do you mean by PIN?
Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a four-digit number, usually set to the last four digits of the phone number provided when signing up for a library card. It is the same PIN you use to log into your library account on our website.
What if I’ve forgotten my PIN?
You can reset your PIN by opening My Account and selecting “Reset My Pin” under the login boxes.

A screen with links circled.

You will be asked to provide your library card number and email address associated with your account. If you do not have an email, please call or visit your nearest library location and a staff member will be able to assist you.

Can the library tell me my PIN?
St. Johns County Public Library System staff do not have access to your current PIN information, but they are able to help you reset your PIN either in person, over the phone, or via our AskA Librarian chat.
