Stars, Stripes, and Stories at SJCPLS This Summer
The St. Johns County Public Library System (SJCPLS) is excited to announce its “Stars, Stripes, and Stories” 2026 Summer Reading Program beginning May 31 through July 25. Designed to promote educational and family-friendly summer fun, SJCPLS invites the community to visit the library and participate in this year’s reading adventure.
This year’s theme was designed and created by Flagler College Student, Hailey Clark, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
Reading Logs
The annual summer reading program is designed to encourage families to read together during the summer to combat the “summer slide.” The program offers participants incentives to keep reading skills sharp in preparation for the next school year.
Visit any branch library or the Bookmobile to pick up your summer reading logs.
Reading Log Instructions:
1. Use the grid on the right to check off each day you read during our Summer Reading Program. Every five days read within the week earns a free prize (Note: Attendance at a Summer Reading Program event counts as one day read).
2. Bring your reading log to the library each week and show it to a library staff member to collect your prize.
Featured Events
Additionally, over 100 fun and educational events are planned throughout this eight-week adventure, along with regularly scheduled storytimes, book clubs, and STEM programs. Patrons are encouraged to stop by any of the six SJCPLS branches and enjoy various programs that offer:
- Art-themed family fun, including games, scavenger hunts, storytime, and more.
- Fun for the whole family at various movie matinees.
- Magic shows with Magician Mark Alan.
- Arts, crafts, trivia, and so much more!
