Your Library Card: The Best School Supply of All
Every parent wants their child to succeed, and one of the simplest ways to ensure a child’s academic success is by making a quick trip to the library. This September, the St. Johns County Public Library System joins with the American Library Association and public libraries across the nation to make sure all children have the most important school supply of all—a free library card.
The library is your community hub. We offer virtual programming for people of all ages. Plus, your library card gives you access to books and computers, homework help, assistance with resumes and job searches, accurate financial information, music, movies, magazines, and a broad assortment of online books, audiobooks, and databases.
Beginning September 15, SJCPLS libraries will re-introduce evening service hours. All six library locations will be open either Tuesday or Thursday evening until 7:00pm. Evenings will be staggered among the libraries so there will always be at least two library locations open each evening throughout the county. These revised library hours should make getting to the library a little easier for families, students, and working patrons. Specific branch location hours may be found HERE.
Throughout the month of September, the library system will offer special programming and promotions in celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month. One such promotion includes a new library partner, St. Augustine Experiences! All SJCPLS library cardholders can receive a discount of 15% on one of their chocolate or craft beer tours when they show their library card! For more information go to www.staugustineexperiences.com and use the promotional code SJC Library for more to make your reservations.
Now is a great time to visit SJCPLS and sign up for a library card! With six library locations throughout St. Johns County, you are sure to find a library near you. We look forward to seeing you throughout the year.
Sincerely,
